Murder at 5842

I was pulling in the driveway yesterday and was so focused on the ice that I never saw the bird until it took off right in front of my truck - barely clearing the neighbor's fence with its victim.

Wow...watching him eat was something. I'm kinda sorry I missed the kill. That had to be quite a sight.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">no kidding. there are a lot of hawks around here, and I see them all the time perched in the little trees and bushes that they've planted by the highways. it's really amazing to be driving down the road and see a huge hawk just sitting there, absolutely motionless, looking for all the world like it's the king of all it surveys. they really are beautiful birds.
